View Full Version : What is your average weight loss per week?

Hi, Boss and I are on the plan, we have been on the program just over 4 weeks. He has lost 18 lbs and I only 10 lbs. Is this normal? Because of my size he is saying I should have lost over 30 lbs? I exercise at curves 3x a week. Just Curious how other people are doing?:confused:

First of all, there is no "formula" for if you are X size you will lose Y lbs in Z amount of time. There are a LOT of variables, and personal metabolism sure plays a big role. You really cannot compare your weight loss to another person's.

Secondly, men DO lose weight faster/sooner than women, even if you both work out. I just read a study that indicates that if a man and woman are on a similar diet and exercise program, it may take a man two days to start losing whereas the woman may take as much as two weeks to see a similar loss.

Thirdly, the key is YOU LOST TEN POUNDS and in ONE MONTH!!!! Hello???
THAT is great. An average healthy weight loss is usually said to be about 2 lbs a week, so you are 2 lbs ahead of the game.

Hello Farley1, Welcome to ns, Men usually loss weight at a faster pace then women. That's because though out the day men take 2000 more steps than women. Check out my old posting titled "Do you really want to be healthy and thin". For further understanging. Also I have a new posting titled "I pledge to be 100% on ns". :D The whole thing started on the issue of Tony Orlando, My co-worker said that he lost all 103 lbs. in less than 3 months. I said that was impossible to loose that much weight in that short of time. I am presently 288 lbs. and he felt the weight should drop off me so much faster. I have a long way to go… We both have been on the plan a short time and our weight loss is much different. I appreciate the kind words, I was thinking about calling quits, but I got a second wind from the comments yesterday. Thank you
