    Question Is the Chicken Alfredo sauce normally brown?

    Hi,

    I'm relatively new and trying out foods. I was a bit surprised tonight that the chicken alfredo sauce was brown instead of creamy. Is that normal or did I get a bad package?

    a lot of the white things that they "soft can" as shelf stable foods seem to have that weird off color; I remember the manila envelope colored mashed potatoes in the meatloaf dinner looked really weird to me the first time; they tasted normal, but they sure looked awful... it should be fine...I think it's just the process they use to keep things fresh.

    Yeah it is normal! Don't judge the dish by the color though - this one is one of my faves!

    It is not an attractive meal. However, I love it with the addition of some sauted veggies!

    Loved your post...I'm new too, and I had the Chicken Alfredo last night! I agree it looked a little bad, but tasted great! I layered it over steamed broccoli.

    It definitely tastes better than it looks.

    I can't get past the color...too gray for me.

    Might have been obvious, but I just want to clarify, it was the ready-to-go chicken alfredo that I was referring to. Just tried the frozen one tonight and it was quite good.

    was that the frozen one? If the frozen one, no, it is not brown. I dont know about the shelf stable one.
